This role will involve working with neural activity datasets, behavioral datasets, fluorescence microscopy imaging datasets, and transcriptomic datasets, contributing to both ongoing studies and the development of new analytical pipelines. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and eager to develop expertise at the interface of neuroscience and quantitative analysis.
The position is particularly well suited for individuals considering a PhD in neuroscience or those seeking to develop long-term expertise in neurobiological research and data analysis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Image processing and quantitative image analysis
- Analysis of behavioral and neural activity datasets
- RNA sequencing experiments and data analysis
- Mouse brain histology, immunofluorescence, and RNA-FISH
- Confocal fluorescence microscopy and light-sheet microscopy
- Mouse behavioral experiments
- Laboratory administrative and logistical duties, including procurement and mouse colony management
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
Skills:
- Experience with quantitative data analysis and/or programming
- Strong interest in neuroscience research
- Ability to learn independently and solve unfamiliar problems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Experience:
- Experience with microscopy, image processing, or image analysis
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, R, or related languages
- Experience working with biological datasets
- Familiarity with computational neuroscience, machine learning, or statistical modeling approaches
- Prior research experience in an academic laboratory
Why Join Our Lab?
Our laboratory combines molecular biology, advanced microscopy, animal behavior, and computational analysis to investigate how molecular and cellular signaling mechanisms shape neural circuit function and behavior.
The successful candidate will receive interdisciplinary training spanning experimental and computational neuroscience, with opportunities to develop strong technical, analytical, and scientific communication skills in a highly collaborative research environment.
