Research Assistant (NIE-CRCD)

The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 3-month contract at the Centre for Research in Child Development.

Project Title: A Proof-of-Concept Study of a Research Application and the Examination of Validity Evidence of Data

Project Introduction:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant for a project focused on developing a mobile application (app) for research which could be used for data collection. This project also examines the validity evidence of data collected via the app.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Statistics, or a related Social Science field

  • Familiarity with online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, LimeSurvey) and mobile app environments

  • Prior experience in quantitative and qualitative research, data collection, data management (e.g., Entity-Relationship), and psychometric analysis is highly preferred

  • Strong understanding of basic psychometric principles (e.g., validity)

  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills

  • Ability to work independently and proactively

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the participant recruitment

  • Manage data collection for quantitative and qualitative research

  • Oversee automated data management system to retrieve and structure data from external platforms into standardized formats

  • Conduct data cleaning and analyses including psychometric analyses

  • Provide administrative support

  • Contribute to the preparation of research reports and manuscripts for dissemination

  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
