Research Assistant (Psychology / Cognitive Neuroscience)
The Centre for Research and Development in Learning (CRADLE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) supports multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research across NTU devoted to transforming learning in higher education. Leveraging on knowledge and methods from education, psychology, neuroscience, and technology design, CRADLE aims to develop and test theories to explain learning in all of its forms.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team and contribute to research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support research collaborations by liaising with internal teams and external partners, including educational institutions.
Conduct literature reviews and prepare research reports, summaries, and presentation materials for stakeholders.
Prepare and maintain ethics applications and documentation in accordance with institutional review board (IRB) requirements.
Collect research data using established psychological and neuroimaging methods (e.g., cognitive assessments, MRI, fNIRS).
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of research protocols and data analysis workflows.
Perform data analysis using relevant statistical and research software.
Provide administrative support for research activities, including procurement and coordination of resources.
Maintain research data systems, including ensuring proper data management, security, and documentation.
Coordinate meetings and prepare progress updates for project stakeholders.
Provide guidance to student assistants involved in research activities, where applicable.
Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or a related field.
Skills and Competencies
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare research documentation and reports.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
Familiarity with neuroimaging tools and techniques is advantageous.
Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to adapt to evolving research needs.
Willingness to travel to research sites, where required.
Experience and Knowledge
Prior experience in research (e.g., cognitive neuroscience, psychology, or related fields) is preferred.
Exposure to neuroimaging methods (e.g., fMRI, DTI, fNIRS) is advantageous.
Familiarity with academic research processes and publications is a plus.
Basic understanding of cognitive neuroscience concepts is beneficial.
