Research Engineer, Security and Privacy, DeepMind

The mission of the team is to build solutions for securing Gemini against prompt injections and other contextual security attacks, as well as, building out of model defenses against prompt injection attacks on AI agents. The latter includes classifiers as well as policy related solutions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Develop security and privacy solutions for AI agents against prompt injections and other contextual security vulnerabilities, particularly, out-of-the-model solutions such as classifiers and policy engines.
  • Work with product teams to get their requirements and security policies in order to develop practical privacy and security solutions.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience in Security and Privacy.
  • Experience with Python or C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD.
  • Research experience, authored publications in AI/ML.
  • Passion for AI technology and all of its possibilities.
