Job Description
The successful candidate will work with A/P Lau On Sun on studying the production of stomata in plants under a project on Singapore Indoor Farming System.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
running a project in the lab where we aim to study the production and behavior of stomatal guard cells in plants. The work will involve the generation of transgenic plants, analyses of plant varieties and mutants, performing light and confocal microscopy, image analyses, and various in vitro and in vivo biochemical, molecular, and genomic analyses. The Research Fellow is also expected to mentor and train junior members in the lab.
Qualifications
PhD in Plant Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology or related field.
Skills:
Expertise in basic and advanced molecular biology, biochemical, and genetic techniques in Arabidopsis and other relevant plant model systems (e.g. gene cloning, in vitro protein assays, protein-protein interaction, crossing and phenotyping plants, etc.) and microscopic analyses (e.g. light and fluorescent microscopy and imaging analyses).
Experience:
At least 4 or more years of related laboratory experience in molecular genetics in plants. Experience working with Arabidopsis and other plant species and have at least one submitted/accepted manuscript in reputable journals in relevant fields will be preferred.
