Research Manager
Established in 2020 through the merger of Auckland Clinical Studies (ACS) and Christchurch Clinical Studies Trust (CCST), NZCR is at the forefront of early-phase clinical research in New Zealand. Full-Time, Permanent
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Trials Research Manager to lead our Christchurch research support functions and play a key role in the successful delivery of clinical trials.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing resource planning across studies, ensuring efficient study delivery,
and leading a high-performing team across clinical trial management and research support. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager and wider leadership team to optimise capacity, support study execution, and contribute to ongoing improvements across the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role that balances people leadership management, operational oversight, and forward planning, making it ideal for someone confident working both strategically and day-to-day within a fast-paced clinical research environment.
Experience in a clinical research environment would be a key to success in the role.
Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health, science, or clinical field
- At least 5 years’ experience in clinical trials, including significant experience in a study coordination role
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of clinical research processes, ethical requirements, and ICH-GCP guidelines (current certification preferred)
- Demonstrated ability in resource planning, workload management, and operational oversight across multiple studies
- Confidence working across a range of stakeholders, including clinical teams and senior leadership
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
