Research Scientist

Summary

Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to spearhead the development, implementation, and evaluation of activities for a funded research project aimed at preventing and responding to institutional child abuse.

Essential Functions

  • Community Engagement and Partnership Development: Forge and maintain partnerships with community organizations, act as the project liaison, and coordinate outreach efforts to ensure comprehensive community engagement.

  • Intern and Field Education Student Management: Oversee interns, field education students, and student employees, including recruitment, training, and supervision, in alignment with project objectives and clinical standards to ensure that emerging researchers can contribute and participate fully in the research process while still meeting their learning objectives.

  • Clinical Supervision and Training: Provide clinical supervision to trauma-informed care providers and oversee the training of new practitioners in CRM, Havening Techniques, and expressive arts.

  • Research Collaboration and Coordination: Facilitate research efforts, ensuring ethical compliance, effective study design, and data analysis, serving as the primary contact for research collaborators.

  • Additional Duties: Participate in project planning, contribute to strategic discussions, assist in report and grant writing, data collection, and data analysis, and perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must have a master's degree in any field of study. Preferred: A doctoral degree in a social science relevant to the project focus, preferably social work, psychology, counseling, or one of the other helping professions.

  • Must be licensed or pre-licensed mental health professional with significant experience in trauma-informed care. Licensure does not need to be in the state of Florida. This can be waived under limited circumstances.
