JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Pathology is seeking applicants for part-time Research Support.
Job duties to include:
- Under the supervision of the Post Doctoral lab manager, this position will executing research experiments
- Assist in laboratory operations and compliance requirements
- Assist at maintaining equipment and inventory
- Handling administrative responsibilities related to research activities
- Routine support tasks such as data entry, and laboratory preparation that may include, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, stocking supplies and inventory tracking, proper waste disposal (biohazard, chemical), and keeping a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:
- A minimum one year of undergraduate schooling in an accredited science degree program
- One year experience in a research lab environment
- The ability to be able to do the following, pipetting (manual and electronic), measuring and preparing solutions (dilutions, buffers), use of common lab equipment (centrifuges, balances, microscopes, spectrophotometers), sample handling and labeling and following standard operating procedures.
- Basic understanding of biology, chemistry, or related field

Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is based on candidates experience.
