As the Resident Engineer, you will serve as the on-site representative during construction, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. You'll collaborate closely with contractors, inspectors, designers, and project stakeholders while helping deliver critical infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform construction quality assurance (CQA) inspections throughout project execution.
- Observe and document demolition, excavation, dewatering, concrete placement, and finishing activities.
- Verify contractor compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Prepare detailed daily and weekly construction reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Identify field issues and assist with the resolution of construction challenges.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Monitor project progress and communicate schedule, quality, and safety concerns.
- Assist with constructability reviews, project reporting, change management, and project closeout activities.
- Support implementation of project Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Health & Safety programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
- Required experience with Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) on concrete construction projects.
- Experience observing concrete demolition, placement, finishing, and quality control activities.
- Strong understanding of construction quality management practices and field inspection procedures.
- Experience preparing daily reports, weekly reports, and construction documentation.
- Experience supporting heavy civil, infrastructure, water resources, dam, levee, pipeline, or similar construction projects is preferred.
- ACI Certification is highly preferred.
- OSHA 10-Hour certification required (or ability to obtain prior to project start).
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in an active construction environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction management software, MS Project, or Primavera P6 is a plus.
- Valid U.S. driver's license required.
- Ability to perform construction site inspections and work outdoors as required.
