HDR is looking for a Resident Inspector to partner with our Construction Management team on the delivery of a major treatment plant construction project in metro Atlanta. In the role of Resident Inspector, we'll count on you to\:
  • Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project execution
  • Observe field activities for general conformance to the contract documents
  • Proactively partner with the General Contractor and Construction Management team to coordinate field issues
  • Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
  • Conduct inspection of electrical, structural, mechanical/HVAC, I&C, and site civil construction activities
  • Collaborate with other field representatives
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
  • Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
  • Review submittals for conformance with technical specifications
  • Participate in required construction meetings
  • Actively participate in the start-up and troubleshooting of new facilities
  • Develop relationships with client personnel to further HDR’s objectives of maintaining outstanding client service
  • Coordinate with design team members in HDR offices to obtain input to support on-going construction activities
  • Perform other construction management as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school or college degree
  • Relevant Industry Certifications
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • At least two years of construction experience in the water/wastewater field
  • Knowledge of CAD software programs, scheduling software, and project management software (Newforma)
  • Local candidates preferred
