Residential HVAC Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Residential HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system tune-ups on residential heating and cooling equipment while providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and committed to helping homeowners keep their HVAC systems operating efficiently year-round.
1. Preventive Maintenance
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on residential heating and cooling equipment, including but not limited to furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and mini-split systems.
  • Check and replace filters as needed.
  • Inspect electrical components, wiring, capacitors, contactors, relays, and safety controls.
  • Verify proper refrigerant levels and system operation.
  • Measure and document operating pressures, temperatures, voltage, amperage, airflow, and temperature differentials.
  • Test thermostats and control systems for proper operation.
2. Diagnostics and Minor Repairs
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform minor repairs during maintenance visits when authorized.
  • Troubleshoot common HVAC system issues.
  • Report major repair needs.
3. Customer Service
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally to homeowners.
  • Educate customers on system operation, maintenance practices, and energy-saving opportunities.
  • Promote maintenance agreements and company services when appropriate.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
4. Documentation
  • Complete accurate service reports, inspection forms, and maintenance checklists.
  • Document equipment condition, deficiencies, repairs performed, and recommendations.
  • Record equipment information, operating data, and customer interactions in company software.
  • Submit paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
5. Safety
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Utilize proper personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely.
1. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
