Residential Landscape Construction- Team Member
Job Role
1. Landscape Construction
● Assist in loading and unloading materials such as soil, gravel, plants, and equipment.
● Prepare outdoor areas for landscape installation by excavating or leveling ground and transporting necessary equipment and materials.
● Aid in the installation of hardscapes such as stone, pavers, brick, or concrete for patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
● Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and installing structures.
● Assist in planting trees, shrubs, fl owers, and grass according to landscape design plans.
● Lay sod and spread mulch or soil as needed to ensure proper plant growth and site appearance.
● Operate and maintain various hand tools and small equipment, ensuring safe use at all times.
● Clean up the job site after completing tasks, including disposing of waste materials properly.
● Operate trucks, trailers, and transport materials and tools between sites.
● Safely operate compact equipment, including skid steers, mini-excavators, tampers, saws, plate compactors, and power tools as required.
● Conduct pre- and post-operation checks to ensure equipment is in safe working order and report any mechanical issues promptly.
● Assist in daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment to uphold operational safety and longevity.
2. Safety and Compliance
● Follow all health and safety regulations on the job site to prevent injuries and accidents.
● Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
● Identify and report any hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
3. Communication and Teamwork
● Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
● Take initiative to support teammates—anticipate upcoming tasks and prepare materials or tools in advance.
● Demonstrate a proactive and adaptable approach to changing site needs or priorities.
● Maintain respectful and professional communication with all team members, clients, and site personnel.
● Assist in mentoring new crew members by modeling best practices and safety protocols.
