Restaurant Manager

Thomas United Company Limited (TUCL) is a multi-concept food service company operating warehouses, restaurants, concessions, bakeries, and catering in the beautiful island of Bermuda. We specialize in independent multi-cuisine restaurants (both fast-food and smart-casual/fine-dining). We also provide food and beverages to sports activities and special events.


*We are currently seeking experienced Managers for our Burger Brand , Pizza Brand, and Casual Dining/Catering Operations*


The successful applicant must have a proven track record of successfully managing a “start up” fast food restaurant and growing the business. The Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our restaurant and the performance management of employees.


Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:


Financial



Increasing sales and minimizing expenses



Ensuring that all payroll related duties are completed accurately and on time



Assuming responsibility for restaurant profit and loss



Following cash control/security procedures



Applying financial reporting analysis to enhance restaurant results


Food Safety and Planning



Enforcing sanitary practices for food handling and cleanliness



Ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service



Maintaining a professional restaurant image



Maintaining inventory



Working with relevant staff to ensure efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies


Customer Service



Ensuring a positive customer experience



Responding and resolving customer complaints


Operational Responsibilities



Ensuring that security procedures are in place



Ensuring a safe working environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.



Completing accident reports if needed



Managing and scheduling shifts



Directing efficient, accurate preparation and sale of food and beverages



Ensuring preventive maintenance of restaurant equipment



Evaluating restaurant(s) and identifying strengths and areas for improvement


Marketing



Implementing marketing strategies



Promoting and marketing the restaurant(s)


Personnel



Establishing employee performance goals



Conducting performance reviews



Providing direction to employees



Supervising, training, coaching, and providing ongoing feedback to employees


Qualifications


The selected candidate must have at least five years management experience in a fast food operation. Multi-unit management, start-up, and drive-through experience are preferred. Ideally, the individual should have experience in a restaurant with a focus on selling hamburgers. Demonstrated experience as a “hands on” manager is essential. Proven skills in food planning and preparation, purchasing, and staff management is also essential. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite is a must.


This role requires an energetic, self-motivated individual with excellent customer service skills. Candidates must be flexible, able to problem solve, and be able to work well under pressure. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding company in a new area of food service.
