Restaurant Supervisor

Role Overview

As a Restaurant Supervisor at Banyan Tree Dubai, you play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and ensuring smooth day-to-day restaurant operations. You will supervise the service team, uphold luxury service standards, and act as a role model in delivering personalised, attentive, and intuitive hospitality aligned with the Banyan Tree brand.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Supervise and coordinate restaurant service to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Welcome and interact with guests, ensuring personalised and attentive service throughout their visit.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when required.
  • Ensure service standards consistently reflect luxury brand expectations.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead the service team during shifts, ensuring clear communication and smooth coordination.
  • Allocate sections and duties to waiters and ensure efficient table coverage.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Support training and onboarding of new colleagues.
  • Motivate the team to maintain high performance and service consistency.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee restaurant setup, mise-en-place, and closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with sequence of service and brand SOPs.
  • Monitor cleanliness, grooming standards, and overall restaurant presentation.
  • Support reservation flow, seating plans, and table management during service.
  • Assist in inventory control and daily operational checks where required.

Food & Beverage Knowledge

  • Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods.
  • Ensure the team is well-informed and able to confidently explain offerings.
  • Support upselling initiatives and revenue optimisation strategies.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Monitor adherence to grooming and presentation standards across the team.
  • Report and escalate any operational or safety concerns promptly.

Administrative Support

  • Assist with shift reports, guest feedback logs, and daily handovers.
  • Support scheduling inputs and operational briefings as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within luxury hotels or high-end restaurants.
  • Strong background in Food & Beverage service standards.
  • Experience in guest-facing leadership roles in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
