Retail Area Manager

Retail Area Manager – South West Region.

We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, relationship-driven Retail Area Manager to take ownership of our South West territory.

This is a field-based role where your impact is highly visible. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our titles are in-store, front-of-mind, and driving strong sales performance across your region.

As a natural relationship builder, you’ll work closely with retail partners to maximise in-store presence, identify opportunities for growth, and deliver a consistently high standard of execution. This role involves regular travel across the South West and is ideally suited to someone based in the region who enjoys being on the road and working independently while staying connected to a wider team.

About the role:

This is a fast-paced, field-based role where you’ll own your area and make it perform.

  • Build strong, on-the-ground relationships with newsagents, retailers and key stockists.

  • Make sure our publications are always visible, well presented and easy to buy.

  • Keep stock levels right - maximising sales while minimising returns.

  • Stay on top of your territory with regular visits and clear execution standards.

  • Spot new opportunities to grow distribution in cafés, hospitality venues and local businesses.

  • Use data and insights to improve performance and optimise supply.

  • Keep things running smoothly with accurate reporting and Salesforce updates.

  • Expect to spend most of your time out in the field, with travel across the South West (and occasional metro).

About you:

You’re someone who takes ownership, knows how to build relationships, and understands what drives retail performance.

  • Experience in account management, retail, or field-based roles.

  • Confidence working independently and managing your own territory.

  • Strong communication skills - you build trust quickly and easily.

  • A commercial mindset - you know how to drive sales and reduce waste.

  • Great organisation and attention to detail.

  • Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce (or similar).

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.

  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
