Retirement Plan Services Manager
Job Description:
The Retirement Plan Services Manager (RPSM) leads the strategy, development, and ongoing support of HTK’s qualified and non-qualified retirement plan platform. This includes designing and executing strategic initiatives that enhance platform competitiveness, drive advisor adoption, and improve operational efficiency.
This role serves as the firm’s subject matter expert (SME), providing product guidance, regulatory insight, and practical solutions to financial professionals in partnership with Compliance and Legal. The RPSM partners cross-functionally across Product, Operations, Sales Enablement, Supervision, and Marketing to advance HTK’s retirement plan capabilities and growth.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Initiative Execution
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand and enhance HTK’s retirement plan platform
Identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and advisor adoption; translate into actionable initiatives
Define success metrics and track progress against business objectives
Platform & Product Management
Oversee retirement plan platforms, product offerings, and supporting web-based tools, including billing
Continuously evaluate and enhance platform capabilities aligned with firm strategy
Research, evaluate, and propose new retirement plan solutions
Advisor Support & Engagement
Act as primary SME for retirement plan strategies, products, and regulatory considerations
Partner with financial professionals to align solutions with their business models and client needs
Develop and deliver training programs to drive adoption and best practices
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Maintain expertise in ERISA and retirement plan regulatory requirements
Conduct ongoing due diligence on approved providers (disclosures, agreements, periodic reviews, site visits as appropriate)
Partner with Compliance and Legal to ensure policies, disclosures, and agreements remain current
Support Product Committee in risk assessment and mitigation
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Lead regular business reviews with retirement plan providers
Collaborate across Product, Operations, Sales Enablement, and Marketing to execute initiatives and enhancements
Manage onboarding of new products and selling agreements across internal stakeholders
Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement
Represent HTK at industry events, conferences, and regional meetings
Evaluate and respond to field-submitted product and platform requests, including risk analysis
Leadership
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members
Drive process improvements and scalable operating practices
Qualifications & Expertise
Industry Knowledge
Deep expertise in retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457, SEP, SIMPLE) and ERISA
Strong understanding of investment products including managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, annuities, alternatives, and non-traded vehicles
Investment & Analytical Skills
Working knowledge of portfolio construction, performance analysis, and market dynamics
Familiarity with key metrics (alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio, standard deviation, etc.)
Business & Operational Acumen
Knowledge of broker-dealer and RIA platforms, operations, and compliance frameworks
Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage cross-functional execution
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Leadership & Communication
Effective collaborator with the ability to influence across all levels
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on execution and outcomes
Education & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (required)
5–7+ years of financial services experience, preferably in retirement plan consulting or platform management
Licenses: Series 7, 63/65 or 66 (required)
Designations: CFP®, AIF®, or equivalent retirement/fiduciary credential (required)
Base Salary Range - $115,000 - $130,000
