Rig Maintenance Supervisor

Role Summary

Borr Drilling is seeking qualified Rig Maintenance Supervisors to join our talent bank for current and upcoming opportunities within our global offshore operations.

Overall accountability for the maintenance and operation of all rig equipment and systems (hardware and software) to ensure safe and efficient operations. Oversight of all rig departments related to maintenance activities. Focal point for technical queries from internal and external sources, acting as subject matter expert in asset integrity processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to rig for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) requirements related to asset integrity activities (inhibits and overrides, energy isolation, dropped objects, environmental monitoring).
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leadership (behavioral based safety, management by walk around, etc.) and ad-hoc initiatives or campaigns.
  • Ensure Safety Case technical barriers are in place and effective, including management of Written Scheme of Verification (WSV) if applicable.
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities with the Rig Manager, OIM and other department supervisors to align with operational constraints.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and communicate equipment problems or breakdown information to onshore technical department as required and conduct post-event equipment failure investigations.
  • Respond in timely manager to asset integrity queries from internal, and external sources.
  • Coordinate and support planning, execution, and follow-up of classification society, flag state, statutory, and client surveys.
  • Plan the maintenance, overhaul and upgrade activities for between well periods, shipyards, stacking, reactivation/activation, and rig modifications.
  • Supply rig management with maintenance statistics monitoring performance of maintenance onboard rig and advising on areas for continuous improvement.
  • Manage maintenance requirement Nonconformity Process (NCR).
  • Provide guidance on operation of equipment and systems to optimize both reliability of equipment, and efficiency of operations.
  • Support recruitment and succession planning activities of direct reports, including use of disciplinary procedures if required.
  • Competency program and training compliance for direct reports. Support competency program for indirect reports related to maintenance activities.
  • Accountable for all rig maintenance activities; including but not limited to condition-based monitoring (oil sample analysis, vibration analysis, infrared inspections, non-destructive testing, megger testing, corrosion monitoring, nondestructive testing), periodic (daily/weekly) equipment and system checks, and hull integrity.
  • Liaise with the OIM to ensure that all third-party equipment is fit for purpose, certified, correctly installed, and maintained while on the rig.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of materials (spare equipment, spare parts, consumables) to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation. Approve all maintenance department material requisitions including use of parts from inventory, requested from other rigs, or required to be purchased externally.
  • Repair and maintenance cost estimating, budgeting, and cost tracking.
  • Take overall responsibility for rig modifications (engineering MOC), and operational risk assessment for execution onboard rig.
  • Manage rig technical documentation, including but not limited to manuals, drawings, certificates, equipment registers, and IADC equipment list.
  • Quality assurance and quality control of rig’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Superuser for Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including training of all rig users.
  • Identify and request changes to the CMMS system where improvement opportunities can be implemented, including creating predetermined preventive maintenance routines for any maintenance activity repeated onboard that is not already in CMMS.
