Your New Role
Pay Range: $29.31 - $36.63 / hour; based on experience.
Hours: Regular business hours, Monday - Friday
Location: This is an onsite position in San Diego or Fontana; with travel to clubs across California, as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Risk & Safety Specialist supports Chuze-wide risk mitigation processes tied to compliance, internal policies, and loss prevention. You will support teams across all California Chuze clubs - from San Diego to Sacramento - to minimize financial, legal, and reputational risks, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, reducing employee risk while at work, and maintaining trust with members.
- Maintain cross-functional collaboration with internal departments, bridging risk-related communication and processes from Home Office to field leadership and employees
- Review incident report data from all respective locations and work with Operations to document events appropriately
- When necessary, assist clubs in accessing and storing videos for incidents
- Create and maintain a secure database for all archived videos
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory issues in areas that affect business operations including OSHA, ADA, and Public Health
- Collaborate with other departments to improve the safety and security at all Chuze locations
- Coordinate bimonthly Club visits to assess exposure points as well as conduct safety and compliance audits
- Maintain information for alarm passcodes for respective locations
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Team and vendors in maintaining compliance with fire and burglar regulatory requirements
- Provide support to the Risk & Safety Compliance for workers' compensation, general liability, and property claims by gathering data, conducting investigations
- Cooperate with law enforcement agencies to provide information, documents, and/or video to assist in investigations when necessary

Your Skills:
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in safety, risk, compliance, loss prevention, or a related operational role
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with regular ability to visit Chuze business units across the organization, subject to ADA accommodations
- Experience operating security cameras and/or CCTV systems
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Organized, accountable, able prioritize goals independently with attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the capacity to take initiative in investigating and resolving problems, using data to draw unbiased conclusions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present information and provide guidance and support to cross-functional managers
- Capacity to receive and deliver constructive feedback
Preferences:
- Previous experience in the fitness industry
Physical Abilities:
- Read, write, and speak clearly in English
- Walking or climbing stairs
- Bending, kneeling, and repetitive arm movement
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Phone and computer operations
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
