Risk Officer - Hybrid

The Risk Officer plays a key role in supporting Lendi Group’s risk management, compliance assurance, governance, and continuous improvement activities across the business. Sitting within the centralised Risk, Compliance & Legal (CRL) team, the role contributes to maintaining a safe, trusted, and well-controlled operating environment through assurance activities, compliance support, and operational risk management.

Working under the guidance and support of the Heads of Risk & Compliance, General Counsel, and Compliance & Assurance Team Manager, the role supports the broader CRL function by:

  • Supporting the whole CRL team on risk, compliance, legal and governance tasks.

  • Conducting assurance activities that contribute to strong risk management, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

  • Supporting compliance monitoring, assurance reviews, and control testing activities across different areas of the business.

  • Assisting with assurance-related requests, reviews, and broader CRL initiatives.

  • Identifying gaps and supporting improvements that strengthen governance, compliance, and risk management outcomes.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to support Lendi Group’s operational, regulatory, and governance objectives.

You will report to the Compliance & Assurance Team Leader for people management, including regular check-ins, guidance on workload, development conversations, and performance feedback.

Responsibilities

Risk, Governance & CRL Support

  • Support the broader Risk, Compliance & Legal (CRL) team with risk, compliance, legal, governance, and operational support activities.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the risk management system, including incidents, issues, KRIs, actions, and governance-related matters.

  • Assist with ASIC reference checks and supplier risk assessment activities.

  • Support broker governance processes and related administrative activities.

  • Assist with maintenance of the contract register and other Legal team support activities.

  • Provide support on ad hoc reviews, projects, and broader CRL initiatives as required.

Assurance, Compliance & Control Testing

  • Conduct assurance reviews and compliance monitoring activities across various business functions.

  • Perform control testing and assurance checks to assess the effectiveness of operational controls and compliance practices.

  • Support assurance activities that contribute to strong risk management, governance outcomes, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with the identification of compliance risks, control gaps, and operational weaknesses across processes and practices.

Post-Settlement & Assurance Reviews

  • Conduct post-settlement compliance reviews in line with internal policies, regulatory obligations, and lender requirements.

  • Perform other quality assurance reviews as required to assess compliance and operational adherence.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to relevant stakeholders regarding review outcomes, findings, risks, and required remediation actions.

  • Monitor and track follow-up review activities to support completion of remediation actions and closure of identified issues.

  • Participate in calibration sessions to support consistency in assurance methodologies and assessment standards.

Audit, Panel Lender & Regulatory Support

  • Support the preparation and coordination of internal audits, external audits, and panel lender reviews.

  • Coordinate and collate documentation, information, and evidence required for assurance reviews, audits, and regulatory requests.

  • Track audit findings, review outcomes, agreed actions, and remediation activities to support timely resolution.

  • Assist with assurance-related requests and review activities across the business.

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Identify gaps, weaknesses, or inefficiencies in processes, controls, and compliance practices.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to strengthen controls and improve governance and compliance outcomes.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness, assurance practices, and risk management outcomes.

  • Contribute to the implementation of process improvements and sustainable remediation actions across the business.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support governance reporting, audit readiness, and assurance activities.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the business to support strong risk, compliance, and governance outcomes.

  • At least 1 year experience in Quality Assurance, compliance monitoring, assurance reviews, audit, risk, or governance-related activities.

  • Strong skills in clear spoken and written communication.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Works well with others and can build positive working relationships.

  • High attention to detail, clear written communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Understanding of compliance obligations and regulatory frameworks, such as Best Interest Duty, Responsible Lending, and ASIC guidelines (preferred).

  • Ability to identify process gaps, analyse trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Exposure to financial services, mortgage broking, banking, compliance, assurance, or risk environments will be highly regarded.

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred but not essential.
