Residential Mortgage Finance – Vice President (Producer)
The Vice President will act as a client-facing producer responsible for originating, structuring, and executing residential mortgage financing and securitization transactions. This role bridges execution expertise with relationship management and commercial judgment, with accountability for revenue generation and deal leadership.
Job Summary
- Originate and execute residential mortgage-backed financing and securitization transactions
- Manage client relationships and drive repeat business through proactive coverage and market ideas
- Lead transaction execution while mentoring and developing junior team members
Key Responsibilities
- Source and originate new financing opportunities across agency and non-agency residential mortgage collateral; develop client-specific funding strategies
- Structure and execute warehouse lines, term financing, repo/financing facilities, and securitization take-out strategies; negotiate commercial terms
- Lead execution of RMBS transactions including timeline management, document negotiation, internal approvals, and closing/settlement coordination
- Oversee pricing, collateral selection, and risk analysis; ensure consistency with risk appetite, concentration limits, and return targets
- Prepare and present credit approval materials and transaction updates to senior stakeholders; coordinate across risk, legal, treasury, ops, and control functions
- Serve as primary day-to-day relationship manager for a portfolio of institutional mortgage clients; respond to market conditions with actionable ideas
- Coach Analysts/Associates on modeling, documentation, execution discipline, and client deliverables
- Ensure adherence to firm policies, risk, compliance, and control standards; escalate issues as appropriate
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in residential mortgage finance, RMBS, structured products, or balance-sheet lending
- Proven track record of transaction execution and client coverage; demonstrated ability to drive revenue and build durable client relationships
- Strong understanding of mortgage collateral performance drivers and securitization markets; familiarity with investor dynamics and rating agency processes
- Excellent communication and commercial judgment; ability to lead cross-functional teams under tight timelines
- Advanced Excel/modeling and analytics skills; Intex expertise strongly preferred; willingness to travel regularly
The expected base salary ranges from $175,000- $250,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
