RN - Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) - Progressive Care Unit
This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (http://www.milwaukee.va.gov/) in the Acute Care Inpatient Division (6CS). The Acute Care Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with the operations of their designated unit(s). The Acute Care Assistant Nurse Manager will function as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.
The Supervisory ANM is typically responsible for assisting the NM but is not responsible for independently carrying out the expectations of a NM on a routine basis. Some of the ANM duties include but are not limited to: Responsible and accountable for the direction and oversight of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and leader Ensure program effectiveness by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. Exercise the authority to direct work, assign duties, evaluate employee performance, recommend employee awards, approve/deny leave, recall employees to duty, propose discipline grievance adjustments under their direct supervision. Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at a personal, organizational and staff level.
