Safety & Compliance Officer

Position Summary<\/b>

The WHS, Compliance & Child Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing workplace
<\/div>
health and safety systems, safeguarding obligations, organisational compliance, staff
<\/div>
competency development, risk management, audit preparation, and quality improvement
<\/div>
initiatives across Point Care Pty Ltd. The role promotes a strong culture of safety,
<\/div>
safeguarding, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/div>
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
<\/div>
\u2022 Develop and monitor WHS systems, procedures, and safety initiatives.
<\/div>
\u2022 Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
<\/div>
\u2022 Investigate incidents, injuries, hazards, and near misses.
<\/div>
\u2022 Maintain emergency procedures and risk management systems.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Compliance Management
<\/div>
\u2022 Monitor compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies.
<\/div>
\u2022 Conduct internal audits and support external audit preparation.
<\/div>
\u2022 Maintain compliance registers and corrective action plans.
<\/div>
\u2022 Ensure policies remain current with legislative requirements.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Child Safety & Safeguarding
<\/div>
\u2022 Ensure compliance with Child Safe Standards and safeguarding obligations.
<\/div>
\u2022 Support management of child safety incidents and mandatory reporting requirements.
<\/div>
\u2022 Conduct child safety risk assessments across service environments.
<\/div>
\u2022 Monitor Blue Card compliance and child safety training requirements.
<\/div>
\u2022 Promote trauma\-informed and child\-safe practices throughout the organisation.
<\/div>
\u2022 Support safeguarding investigations and reportable conduct processes.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Training, Development & Capability Building
<\/div>
\u2022 Develop and coordinate WHS, compliance, and safeguarding training programs.
<\/div>
\u2022 Monitor mandatory training completion and staff competency requirements.
<\/div>
\u2022 Identify workforce skill gaps and recommend development initiatives.
<\/div>
\u2022 Assist with onboarding and induction program development.
<\/div>
\u2022 Promote continuous improvement and professional development culture.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Risk Management
<\/div>
\u2022 Maintain organisational risk registers and mitigation strategies.
<\/div>
\u2022 Support operational teams with participant and environmental risk assessments.
<\/div>
\u2022 Participate in emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
<\/div>

Requirements<\/h3>
Essential Criteria<\/b>
<\/div>
\u2022 Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS, Compliance, Risk Management, Community Services,
<\/div>
or related field.
<\/div>
\u2022 Minimum 2 years\u2019 experience in WHS, compliance, safeguarding, or quality roles.
<\/div>
\u2022 Strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding obligations, and WHS
<\/div>
legislation.
<\/div>
\u2022 Knowledge of child protection legislation and child\-safe organisational practices.
<\/div>
\u2022 Experience conducting audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.
<\/div>
\u2022 Excellent communication, organisational, and documentation skills.
<\/div>
