Safety Coordinator (1 Year Contract)

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator (1 year contract) with experience in the various aspects of HSEQ work in the construction industry, this includes conducting HSE training for site teams, risk and hazard identification, accident investigations, and site equipment inspections; You must also be someone who holds a passion for working outdoors.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with site teams on HSEQ Construction Methodologies, Risk Assessments and implementing Keller’s safety standards and culture within the Yard.

To be successful as a Safety Coordinator, you should demonstrate strong analytical thinking and be able to have prompt, open and direct communications with site personnel to achieve Keller’s safety standards, as well as the client and regulatory requirements. Outstanding candidates should display accountability, commitment, proactiveness and the ability to work well within the team.

A day in the life of Safety Coordinator

  • Undertake works in accordance with site specific HSEQ Construction Methodologies, Risk Assessments, Site Rules and Keller Policies and Procedures
  • Conduct HSE trainings (including orientation, visitor inductions, risk assessment briefings, mass toolbox meetings, etc)
  • Identify current risks and hazards on site (through audits and inspections) recommend corrective actions, assist in implementation, and follow up till closure
  • Inspect site equipment (including HSE equipment), machinery tools, and vehicles at appropriate intervals
  • Report and investigate incidents (including minor injuries, near misses, and property damages), and verify that corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain site HSE records according to regulatory, Keller's and client's requirements
  • Assist in implementation of Keller's, client's and regulatory requirements. A monthly HSE plan can be used.

You will need:

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace, Safety & Health
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in the built environment/construction industry
  • Valid Class 3 driving license is required, as the role involves regular travel between work sites.
  • Experience with Changi Airport safety protocols will be an advantage.
  • Relevant HSE experience with lifting, ground improvement works and heavy foundations.
  • Microsoft 365 (e.g. Excel, Word, Power-point and Sharepoint)
