Safety Rep I
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Representative is responsible for implementing and executing the health, safety, and environmental plan for company operations in the territory. This role ensures compliance with all safety regulations, conducts regular inspections to identify risks, and monitors the proper use of personal protective equipment. The position supports the technical team by promoting safe work practices, supervising adherence to procedures (PETS, ATS, work permits), and ensuring legal and environmental requirements are met. Additionally, the EHS Representative prepares safety reports, keep records of the metrics (KPIs) associated to safety performance of the whole team in the project, and performance indicators, leads training and awareness programs, participates in client safety meetings, and actively promotes a strong safety culture across all project operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards in mining operations
- Supervise safety practices in maintenance of mobile equipment
- Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support on safety questions.
- Promote safety culture across teams.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits.
- Investigate incidents and report findings.
- Deliver safety training and awareness.
- Communicate safety performance to management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of mining safety standards and regulations
- Experience supervising maintenance activities of heavy equipment, lifting operations, mobile cranes, machinery, and high-risk tasks
- Ability to identify risks and implement corrective actions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to guide, support, and influence teams on safety practices
- Strong leadership and team motivation skills
- Antamina-certified HSE Supervisor profile is preferred

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry
- At least 3 years of experience in safety supervision related to mobile equipment maintenance
- Solid knowledge of mining safety standards and regulations
- Experience supporting safety programs and field operations
Work Environment:
- Work is performed mainly in mining sites and field locations
- Exposure to outdoor conditions such as heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment
- Frequent interaction with operational teams and maintenance areas
- Requires regular site visits and mobility within mining operations
- May require extended or flexible working hours depending on operational needs
- Strong focus on safety practices and compliance with mining regulations
