Safety Specialist
Goals and Objectives:
The Safety Specialist is responsible in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees on our roofing projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in safety management within the roofing industry, an eye for detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures specific to roofing operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on job sites to identify potential hazards.
- Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Train and educate employees on safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate safety information and updates to employees.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
- Assist in investigating and documenting any accidents or incidents, providing recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Monitor and report on safety performance.
- Assist with emergency response planning and drills.
- Support the development and implementation of safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety standards are met.
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Safety professional in the roofing or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards related to roofing.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, CHST) is preferred.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 3 years of safety experience, Bachelor’s degree in safety management or related field is preferred.
