More about this Ozow fantastic position
As a Commercial Intelligence Analyst, you will own the data infrastructure that powers Ozow's merchant acquisition and competitive takeout strategy. This is not a sales role — it is the engine behind the sales team. The GTM Intelligence Analyst ensures that reps always have a clean, enriched, prioritised, and sequenced pipeline of merchant leads in Salesforce, ready to work without manual preparation.
The person in this role sits at the intersection of data, tooling, and commercial strategy. They are the reason the machine runs at scale.
Your role and responsibilities
Competitor Intelligence & List Acquisition
- Run regular BuiltWith exports to identify SA merchants currently processing with competitor payment gateways (PayFast, Peach Payments, DPO, Paygate, SnapScan, Yoco and others)
- Build and maintain structured target lists for each competitor segment, refreshed on a defined cadence
- Apply standard filtering criteria (ecommerce platform, vertical, GMV tier, domain quality) to produce ranked candidate pools
- Track list versions and maintain a clear audit trail of what has been imported and when
Data Enrichment
- Run bulk email discovery across all merchant lists using Hunter.io and/or supplementary tools
- Validate all emails prior to import using NeverBounce or ZeroBounce to protect domain reputation
- Enrich records with platform confirmation (Shopify / WooCommerce / Other), switching friction score, and GMV tier estimate
- Apply ICE scoring (Impact × Confidence × Ease) to rank leads for rep prioritisation
Salesforce & CRM Management
- Import enriched merchant data into Salesforce via Data Loader, maintaining consistent field mapping across all competitor datasets
- Manage deduplication, data quality, and schema integrity across the merchant pipeline
- Build and maintain Campaign structures per competitor takeout wave
- Configure and refine lead scoring formula fields and auto-assignment rules in Salesforce
- Produce Salesforce reports and dashboards for weekly pipeline health reviews
Outreach Sequencing
- Trigger appropriate email sequences via Outreach.io or Salesloft based on ICE score tier and competitor segment
- Monitor sequence performance metrics: open rates, reply rates, bounce rates, conversion to opportunity
- Flag deliverability issues and adjust lists or sequences accordingly
- Maintain sequence templates per competitor type — the pitch for a PayFast merchant differs from a Peach merchant
Process Optimisation
- Own and continuously improve the repeatable end-to-end playbook: list acquisition → enrichment → import → scoring → sequencing
- Analyse conversion data to refine ICE scoring weights over time
- Document all processes so the approach can scale across new competitors or new markets without rework
- Proactively surface data quality issues, tooling improvements, or list strategy recommendations to the commercial lead
Tools & Technology
- Hunter.io: Bulk email discovery from domain lists
- BuiltWith: Competitor merchant discovery; tech stack & payment gateway detection at scale
- Neverbounce/ZeroBounce: Email validation and bounce prevention
- Salesforce CRM: Lead management, Data Loader import, pipeline reporting, campaign tracking
- Outreach.io/Salesloft: Email sequence management with Salesforce sync
- Microsoft Excel: Data cleaning, field mapping, ICE scoring preparation
- Python (advantageous): Data processing scripts; not a hard requirement
You are an ideal candidate if you have
- 2–4 years in a data, operations, revenue operations, or analytical role
- Hands-on Salesforce or CRM experience — data imports, field mapping, basic admin; Salesforce admin certification is a plus
- Comfortable working with large datasets in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data cleaning)
- Prior exposure to outbound sales tooling or CRM management in a commercial environment
Skills & Attributes
- Obsessively detail-oriented — data quality is not a nice-to-have, it is the job
- Process-driven and systematic — builds repeatable approaches rather than one-off solutions
- Fast learner with new tools — picks up BuiltWith, Hunter.io, Outreach with minimal hand-holding
- Commercially aware — understands why clean, scored leads matter to a sales team
- Self-sufficient — can identify a problem in the data and solve it without escalating everything
- Exposure to ecommerce, payments, or fintech is advantageous but not required
Your skills and competencies
- You eagerly embrace change, absorb cross-functional skills, and connect ideas across disciplines to drive fresh thinking and innovation.
- Ability to initiate, develop, maintain and leverage outstanding relationships to influence a wide network, both inside and outside the company.
- A trailblazer who steps up, takes charge, and creates meaningful impact—those driven by performance and purpose to lead from the front and make a real difference every day.
- You thrive in collaboration, embrace inclusion, and bring a genuine curiosity for global cultures—valuing collective success over individual credit.
- Demonstrate strategic foresight, sound judgement, and the ability to make confident decisions under uncertainty, always working toward the best possible outcomes.
- You challenge norms, champion innovation, and constantly seek growth—for themselves, their team, and the solutions they build.
- You are a decisive doer—those who take initiative, follow through with confidence, and ensure results through courageous, hands-on leadership.
- We value optimism, agility, and the strength to persevere under pressure—balancing performance with positivity, even in challenging environments.
- You are driven, proactive individuals who take ownership, face challenges with grit, and consistently push for excellence—not just as participants, but as catalysts for success.
