Context
Our sales team is organized by segment (imaging, the Liberal segment, and CDS : health centers / centres de santé). The CDS segment is mid-market: considered, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (~2 months), accounts worth ~20–50K ARR (~25K average contracted), including groups and networks of centers (up to a hundred-plus sites). Today it has no dedicated lead and is addressed in an unstructured way, while it's one of our top priorities to reach our target by the end of 2026. We're hiring a Sales Team Lead to own, structure, and scale this segment from the ground up.
Your Mission
Structure and scale the CDS segment as a player who becomes a coach: close in your own name in the first ~4 months to build legitimacy with the team and the market, start hiring your team from month 3, then progressively move into management : you’ll be fully off personal closing by ~12 months, turning CDS into a predictable mid-market segment built on consultative selling.
The role, in two phases
First ~4 months : individual contributor / player. You carry your own quota and close mid-market and large accounts deals end to end (~25K average contracted, ~1 to 4 month cycle, multi-stakeholder) to earn credibility and generate revenue, while starting to recruit your team in parallel (1–2 AEs max hired upfront).
From ~month 3 onwards : build and coach. You hire and ramp the CDS AE team, install the rituals, the consultative playbook (influence mapping, structured methods like MEDDIC), and clean forecasting, then progressively hand off personal closing. Once the team reaches 4–5 AEs, you move to full-time management : hiring, ramping, performance, and scaling the segment.
Expected outcomes after a year
You've ramped through the individual phase (Month 2 : 5K / Month 3 : 15K / Month 4 : 30K / Month 5 : 65K signed and deployed) and built personal legitimacy as a closer on Mid market and large CDS deals.
A structured, predictable segment: a playbook is set (influence mapping, MEDDIC), team rituals, clean pipeline hygiene, and a forecast accurate to <5% with every CRM deal correctly qualified.
You've hired and ramped the CDS AEs to 4–5 FTEs and completed the transition from player to full management.
A retained, motivated team, with limited churn.
This role gives you
Full ownership of a segment you build from scratch, with a clear player-to-manager path.
Direct work with the Head of Sales and the founders, with the mandate to build.
The chance to design the rituals, objectives, hiring, and tooling of a team from the ground up.
A fast learning curve in a scale-up growing 6x, France then Europe.
This role is for you if
Must have:
You've been a top full-cycle AE in mid-market SaaS, running mid market deals (~25–30K average, mid-to-long cycle), with a proven closing track record. You're solid enough to close on your own for the first 4 months.
You've already had revenue responsibility for a team of IC sales for at least a year, with real managerial perspective: you've hired and let people go, set objectives, and coached hands-on (call reviews, 1:1s, CRM-driven pipe reviews).
You master structured sales methods (MEDDIC / SPICED) and you're a strong, senior, credible presence with the posture to deal with center directors and group GMs : organized and considered, not transactional and pushy.
You're a builder: you create the rituals, the objectives, the tooling, and you work cross-team (partnerships, ops, CRM).
Managerial courage and integrity: you know how to grow your team while putting the company first, you're a team player.
Nice to have:
You've sold to a liberal / independent profession (doctors, lawyers, regulated professions).
Selling in healthcare, ideally selling to hospitals, or experience with a product under regulatory constraints.
This role is NOT for you if
You became a "manager" by changing companies and titles, without a proven IC/closing track. We want someone who earned the path (ideally BDR → AE → Lead).
You're a purely transactional, high-velocity seller with no multi-stakeholder dimension, or, conversely, a pure enterprise seller used only to 12-month cycles and six-figure deals.
You don't want to be hands-on : this role requires a building mindset, hiring your own team, and closing yourself before you manage.
Perspectives
This role is built to grow with Vocca. In the first phase you build legitimacy and the segment's operating system (consultative playbook, pipe hygiene, forecasting) as a closer, while hiring your team. You then shift into full management of the CDS team. As the segment scales, the role can grow into a Head of segment / BU lead path (the same IC → manager → BU-lead trajectory we already run on other segments) across France and then Europe.
