Established in 1993, Y.R. Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research and Education (YRG CARE) is a premier non\-government organization providing comprehensive HIV services in India. Its objective is to provide prevention, care, support and treatment services for people living with HIV/AIDS, to prevent new infections, and to ensure that patients and their families are treated with dignity.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

SSK ORW Roles & Responsibilities<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Identify\nthe networks (Social and Sexual) of \u201cat risk\u201d clients by visits to the\ncatchment area<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Identify\nclients who are not yet tested or require repeat testing after some\ninterval. <\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Map\nout the area for conducting camps for Community Based Screening in\nconsultations with the community members<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Refer\nat risk communities to ICTC/DSRC/ART centre for repeat testing/ access\nservices.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • With\nthe consent of the at\-risk client, meet and counsel the sexual & social partner.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Home\nvisit to the at\-risk client with prior consent, is one of the outreach\nactivities.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Ensure\nat least 20 to 25 days of field visits in a month to assigned areas and to the\nnearest preferred providers, ICTCs/DSRC/OST where the referrals are to be made.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Assist\nin the implementation of IEC activities and display of IEC material including\nplacement of hoarding wall painting as per the programme.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Support\nand assist SSC & SSM, in preparing the monthly action plan for the site,\nensure supply of HIV Screening Kits, STI/TI Kits, OST medic condoms,\nlubricants, BCC materials adequately for each site.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Demonstrate\ncondom use, counsel on condom negotiation skills.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Motivate\nthe clients for regular General Medical Check\-ups, referral of clients to ICTC,\nSTI clinic, ART, etc.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Identify\ncommunity volunteers who will support SSS activities in the field. If required\nCommunity Champions can also be made.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Meeting\nwith important stakeholders as listed down in the area to mobilise their\nsupport for the communities.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Assist\nin coordinating the outreach\-based BCC and psychosocial support activities.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Assist\nin developing the BCC materials suitable for local context, follow\-up clients\nin the field and maintain records as per prescribed formats.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Undertake\nindividual and group sessions on HIV/AIDS, STI, safe sex and injecting\npractices, prevention of abscesses, overdose prevention, drug treatment\noptions, OST, etc.<\/span><\/span>

  • Assist\nin advocacy meeting/ sensitization workshops with stakeholder to address the\nresponses related to communities\u2019 access to health care facilities, social\nprotection/entitlements, and addressing stigma and discrimination.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

    12th\npass preferably with 1 year experience at district level programmes related to\nhealth, HIV/AIDS, livelihood, rural development, microfinance etc.<\/span><\/span>

    <\/p>

    • Good Computer skill (MS\nWord, PPT and Excel)<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Strong communication skills<\/span><\/span>

    • Ability to work in small teams, and flexible ways of\nworking<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting writing.<\/span><\/span>

    • At least 20\-25 days field visit required.<\/span><\/span>
