This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP BO Developer based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex SAP BusinessObjects environments, driving critical platform migrations and ensuring the stability and performance of enterprise reporting systems.
You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining SAP BO universes and reporting structures that support key business decision-making.
The position involves hands-on technical work across universe design, Web Intelligence reporting, and performance tuning in large-scale data environments.
A strong focus is placed on migration projects, including upgrades and transitions to modern or cloud-based architectures.
You will collaborate with technical teams to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient BI solutions across the enterprise.
The environment is remote, fast-paced, and highly execution-driven with immediate project impact.
This is a contract role offering exposure to critical SAP modernization initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and execute SAP BusinessObjects platform migration activities, including upgrades, server transitions, and movement to newer or cloud-based environments.
  • Design, develop, and optimize complex SAP BO universes using IDT and UDT (.unx and .unv), ensuring robust data models and schema structures.
  • Build and enhance high-performance Web Intelligence (WebI) reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues at both universe and report levels, including SQL optimization and query tuning.
  • Support security configuration, including user access, folder structures, and permissions post-migration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting solutions and smooth migration execution.
  • Maintain documentation of technical designs, migration processes, and system configurations.

    • Requirements:

    • 5–6 years of hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects (including versions 4.2 and 4.3).
    • Proven experience leading SAP BO migration projects, including upgrades and platform transitions.
    • Strong expertise in Universe design using IDT and UDT, including handling complex schema designs (star/snowflake).
    • Deep understanding of resolving universe design issues such as loops, contexts, fan traps, and chasm traps.
    • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries across relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).
    • Experience in designing and optimizing Web Intelligence reports for enterprise-scale usage.
    • Familiarity with SAP BO administration tools such as UMT and Promotion Management is preferred.
    • Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud or integration with modern cloud data platforms is a plus.
    • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment with immediate availability.
