Scrum Master
Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to work within an Agile environment and play a pivotal role in leading Scrum teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions for the Customer’s Development, Security, and Operations (DSO) and Cloud Services initiatives. The role demands a blend of leadership, project management, Agile expertise, and a strong understanding of cloud and DevSecOps environments.
The work you'll do:
Scrum Leadership and Facilitation:
- Serve as a Scrum Master for cross-functional Agile teams.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across team members, stakeholders, and other teams.
Project Delivery Management:
- Drive the successful execution of Agile projects, ensuring on-time delivery of project goals aligned with JARVIS SOW requirements.
- Collaborate with the Customer, product owners, and stakeholders to prioritize and manage backlogs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor project progress, remove impediments, and proactively address risks and challenges.
Agile Process Improvement:
- Promote Agile best practices, principles, and values to foster an Agile mindset within the organization.
- Continuously improving team performance and delivery velocity by identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members to enhance Agile maturity.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Customer and other stakeholders regarding Agile project progress and updates.
- Communicate project status, risks, and impediments effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions to align stakeholder expectations and ensure transparency in the development process.
Collaboration in a Multi-Cloud and DevOps Environment:
- Support Agile development in multi-cloud and DevSecOps environments, ensuring adherence to the Customer’s development standards and security protocols.
- Collaborate with developers, DevSecOps engineers, and other technical staff on the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, cloud solutions, and security processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices in cloud services, automation, and system optimizations.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including sprint velocity, delivery timelines, and quality metrics.
- Enable data-driven decision-making for the teams and stakeholders by providing actionable insights through dashboards and reports.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all work aligns with the Customer's security, compliance, and accreditation requirements.
- Support the development and submission of deliverables, including project plans, after-action reports, and accreditation documentation.
Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile methodologies, including at least 5 years as a dedicated Scrum Master.
- Experience in managing Agile teams in cloud-native and DevSecOps environments.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex IT projects.
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Bonus points if you have:
- Technical foundation as a former developer, cloud engineer, or systems administrator.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent.
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or similar Agile certifications.
- Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with cloud tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Chef, SonarQube, Nexus).
- Knowledge of Agile metrics and performance measurement.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a product-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills.
- Comfortable operating across cross-functional engineering, security, and product teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
Security clearance:
- Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance required
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
