Scrum Master

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Scrum Master in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) Community customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. As a member of the as a service team, you will support an exciting program which involves design, development, test, and deployment of highly complex system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders. What you'll do:

  • Support PI Planning ceremonies and support coordination within agile release trains (ART)
  • Gather and present team performance metrics at end of sprints and end of PI review sessions with senior management and support customer stakeholder briefings
  • Support the Scrum of Scrums session to remove impediments and guiding the team to remove impediments
  • Coach and mentor product owners in Product Backlog Refinements session, Daily Stand Ups, system demos, and Program Increment (PI) Planning events. Participate in meetings to ensure cross-team collaboration and delivery/deployment of products and services
  • Guide, train, and lead teams supporting technical efforts related to software development, maintenance and architectural design, network engineering, system security and training activities
  • Use Agile/Scrum/Kanban practices and values
  • Coach the team on how to self-organize and plan work into enabling features and stories along program increments and sprints
  • Conduct classroom/workshop training for professional levels through management on Agile frameworks, competencies, and methodologies. On-board new teams adopting agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.
  • Assisting with internal and external ART (Agile Release Train) communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Support communication with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Holds an active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI eligibility and ability to maintain clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience working preferably for a federal customer; OR Master's degree and 6+ years of experience. However, additonal Four (4) years equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Currently have or able to obtain Agile Certification (CSM, PMI-ACP) within first few months of hire
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with scrum project management, agile software development, and software version control management
  • Experience with project tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, SharePoint, MS Teams, and MS PowerPoint)

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience supporting and implementing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology
  • Experience with scrum project management, agile software development, and software version control management
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience providing operational task support in a highly demanding environment
  • Experience with cloud computing service including enterprise architecture, application planning, and deployment
  • Experience with providing data driven metrics at customer and stakeholder engagements that lead to solution driven development and completion of tasks

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
