The Role
Quanata (San Francisco, CA) seeks a SDET, Backend to join our team, which is making a huge impact by delivering new-age insurance solutions to modern society. The SDET, Backend will ensure that API components of the backend work according to customer needs. Specific duties include: follow agile methodologies and participate in scrum meetings and software quality audits for all the phases of SDLC; responsible for test creation, testing a large module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area; perform business requirement analysis by thoroughly understanding Project Design Document and Business Requirement Document; develop scalable and robust test automation frameworks and scripts using Python, Pytest, BDD frameworks, and PyCharm; execute integration, regression, and performance testing using industry standard tools; research new or better alternate automated testing tools; extensively use TestRail Test Management tool or equivalent to maintain the test suites, manage the automation test results and analyze the test failures; work independently and collaborate across teams to drive quality initiatives and lead detailed software quality discussions; demonstrate clarity of thought designing end to end test scenarios to work through limited information and vague problem definitions; mentor other quality engineers; and other duties as assigned. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Manager - Projects, QA Engineer, AEM and Content QA Lead, Software Engineer, or similar position. Must have 4 years of experience with each of the following: working with Backend/API; solving problems and working with specific technical topics and assignments; breaking down
problems and identifying scenarios to provide end to end test coverage. Must have 3 years of experience working with each of the following: Test Rail or Test Management Tool, Jira, Confluence, and Python programing and scripting; Linux, databases as SQL or Postgresql, and Shell scripting. Must have 2 years of experience: working with Kubernetes, Docker, Github; and integrating testing artifacts with CI/CD pipeline. Must also have 1 year of experience working with AWS. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $222,962/yr.

Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.
- Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 3PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
