Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. We integrate academic rigor, community, family, and wellness to empower students to thrive in a culturally connected and changing world. Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Currently, CNCA has eight campuses that serve over 3,000 students from pre-K through 12th grade.

Responsibilities:

Coaches will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Evaluating performance and providing suitable feedback, balancing criticism with positive and motivating comments.
  • Assessing strengths and weaknesses in a participant's performance and identifying areas for further development.
  • Adapting to the needs and interests of group or individual participants.
  • Communicating instructions and commands using clear, simple language.
  • Demonstrating an activity by breaking the task down into a sequence.
  • Encouraging participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge and techniques.
  • Ensuring that participants train and perform to a high standard of health and safety at all times.
  • Inspiring confidence and self-belief.
  • Acting as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the people you work with.
  • Working to a high legal and ethical standard at all times, particularly in relation to issues such as child safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
  • Recruiting players at CNCA- Dalzell Lance Campus.
  • Scheduling and facilitating trainings and practices.
  • Ensuring uniforms are maintained and secured.
  • Accompanies all team players to participating games.
