Secondary School Biology Teacher
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary School Biology Teacher to deliver engaging lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and A/As Level curricula, foster scientific inquiry, and support student academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive Biology lessons tailored to diverse learning needs and aligned with syllabus requirements.
- Conduct and supervise laboratory practical sessions, ensuring student adherence to scientific methodologies and lab safety protocols.
- Design, administer, and grade examinations, continuous assessments, and assignments, providing timely, constructive feedback to support student progress.
- Mentor students as a form teacher, monitoring their academic performance and socio-emotional well-being.
- Lead or assist in planning and executing co-curricular activities, school events, and learning journeys.
- Maintain professional communication with parents, guardians, and school management regarding student development.
- Participate in professional learning communities, departmental meetings, and training workshops to enhance teaching practices and educational technology use.
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Bioscience, or a closely related discipline.
- Degree in pedagogy (e.g., B.Ed or equivalent).
- Thorough knowledge of the IGCSE Secondary School and A/As Biology curriculum.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and A/As Level examinations.
- Ability to design differentiated learning pathways for both high-achieving and struggling students.
- 1–2 years of secondary school teaching experience or passion as a newly qualified teacher.
