Security Access Control Manager (12-month secondment)

A rare and exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Security Access Control Manager in Group Security in Head Office, offering a flexible base UK location, with frequent travel.

We are seeking a Security Access Control Manager to drive enterprise delivery and transition to a new Access Control System across the UK enterprise. This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping how access control is standardised, and deployed across a complex, multi-site organisation. This will include management of key activities to ensure the integration of new access control system installations to a centralised server.

You will lead the enterprise transition, embedding consistent processes, enhancing security outcomes, and unlocking the full value of system integration. Working at the intersection of physical security, technology, and programme delivery, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders, local site teams, and external partners to ensure a seamless and effective rollout.

What you’ll be doing\:

Lead the delivery of a new enterprise Automated Access Control System (AACS), ensuring enterprise standardised configurations and consistent ways of working are embedded across the organisation to maximise security and operational benefits.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the wider project team, to ensure consistent and effective deployment across all sites and input to the wider project plan and schedule of activities. Provide strategic guidance and transitional process information to aid local security teams in managing local installations and migrations to the centralised server.

Develop, implement, and enforce enterprise Automated Access Control standards, policies, and associated procedures, ensuring compliance and alignment across the business.

Support the transition to a centralised server by\:

· Working with the wider Project team to manage and define transition activities for LoB

· Overseeing system testing and validation

· Leading enterprise structure configuration minimum baseline standards

· Defining integration requirements

Develop and manage the development of access request tooling capabilities for the enterprise.

Manage relationships with vendors and service providers related to access control including facilitating workshops, coordinating delivery, and tracking actions to ensure successful outcomes.

Evaluate and recommend new features and enhancements, identifying wider Physical Security technology integration opportunities.

Oversee ‘reach-back’ support for sites operating interim solutions, ensuring continuity and alignment with enterprise standards.

Provide assurance insight features to Lines of Business

Oversight of system lifecycle activities, including maintenance, upgrades, and refresh programmes.

Line management of the Access Control Configuration Lead

Your skills and experiences\:

Essential\:

· Experience in access control systems or physical security technology

· Can translate technical concepts into practical guidance for operational teams

· You will be comfortable briefing and positively influencing stakeholders across the business to achieve effective and efficient security.

· Experience in affecting change within a complex environment

· Have a Proactive, Innovative, Programmatic, Strategic mindset

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· A ‘self-starter’ who takes the initiative to set up and facilitate discussions with colleagues, partners and suppliers across the enterprise.

Desirable\:

· Experience working in physical security

· A background in IT security

· An appreciation of government and industry standard security policy, standards and best practice guidance

· Knowledge of BAE Systems from an Enterprise perspective

· Experience in; infrastructure management, technical physical security and design, technical/operational requirements, security obsolescence management

· Strong understanding of system standardisation, governance, and enterprise deployment models

· Experience leading or supporting large-scale system implementations or transformations within a complex, multi-site environment

· Experience designing or overseeing system integrations and reporting capabilities

Location\: Preston ideally (other locations will be considered)

Grade\: GG12 (1 year secondment)
