About the role

MSS Security is seeking experienced Security Officers/Control Room Operators for the University of Melbourne to work on a relieving capacity. In this fast-paced role, you will monitor surveillance systems, manage incident responses, coordinate communication between security personnel and emergency services, oversee access control and visitor management, respond to emergencies, and handle daily phone inquiries.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of security experience in a control room setting and a valid control room license. Strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Skills & experience

  • Full Australian Working Rights

  • Current Victorian Security Licence with Control Room Endorsement

  • Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations

  • Proven control room experience

  • Current Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR

  • Current drivers licence

  • Employee Working with Children's Check (Or willing to obtain)

  • Availability to work a 24*7 rotating roster

  • Strong communication skills

  • Attention to detail and quick decision-making skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
