PURPOSE<\/span> <\/span>OF <\/span>THE <\/span>POSITION: <\/span><\/span><\/b>Work as a member of the Program Design and Management\nTeam to promote a healthy, safe and clean environment for Head\nStart children and staff.<\/span>

QUALIFICATIONS<\/span><\/span>
<\/h1>
  • High\nSchool Diploma or GED and 2 years of custodial experience.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Must\nhave the knowledge, skills and experience needed to perform the assigned\nfunctions responsibly.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Must\nbe able to serve and effectively communicate to the extent feasible, staff,\nchildren and families within the community.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Must\npossess a valid Virginia Driver\u2019s License and reliable transportation.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • An\nacceptable Criminal Record Check and Child Protective Services search, TB tine\ntest and physical required for employment.<\/span>

    <\/p>

    DUTIES<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/b><\/span><\/span>INCLUDE:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>
    • <\/span><\/b>Works\nwith the service area supervisors and coordinators to prepare a safe, clean,\nand healthy environment for children and staff of the Head Start Program.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Clean\noffices, classrooms, restrooms and cafeteria on a daily basis.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Monitors\nthe inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment needed.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Secures\nbuilding at the end of each evening session.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Ensures\nsafety of children and staff departing the center.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Assists\nthe Center Coordinator in notifying proper authorities and/or Supervisor\nregarding emergency situations.<\/span>

        Benefits<\/h3>

        Leave is\ncharacterized as Annual Leave and Sick Leave. As a Full\-time employee, you will\naccrue Annual Leave each pay period for a total of 10 days per year, for each\nof the first five years of employment. You will also accrue five (5) hours of\nsick leave each pay period. In addition to Annual Leave and Sick Leave HRCAP\ngrants employees one day of paid time each year for their birthday.<\/span>

        Hampton Roads Community Action\nProgram provides eleven (11) paid holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King\nJr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus\nDay, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day, and\nChristmas Day.<\/span>

        Medical, dental and vision insurance\ncoverage options are available for employees and dependents. Employer pays\nseventy\-five (75%) of the premium costs for health insurance. Coverage becomes\neffective on the first day of the month following the date of hire. The cost of\ncoverage depends on the plan options and/or dependent coverage elected. All\nhealth insurance premiums are deducted from payroll on a pre\-tax basis through\na Section 125 Plan. <\/span>Our retirement plan\nconsists of a dollar\-for\-dollar matching contribution on salary reduction\ncontributions made by each participant up to 3% after one year of service.<\/span>
