Security Officer - Full Time- Night Shift
Job Purpose
|
The Security Officer serves as a vital part of the hospital’s safety and support infrastructure, working to protect patients, staff, visitors, and property. This position is responsible for ensuring a secure and welcoming environment through a combination of surveillance monitoring, physical patrols, emergency response, and customer service. Security Officers provide a visible presence, enforce hospital policies, and respond promptly to any safety or security incidents.
Officers are expected to demonstrate strong situational awareness, effective communication, and sound judgment while navigating a healthcare setting with compassion and professionalism. This role extends beyond the main hospital building to include clinics, outpatient facilities, parking areas, and all grounds maintained by Bethany Children’s Health Center. By maintaining a consistent presence and building trusted relationships with hospital departments, the Security Officer plays a crucial role in preserving a healing environment and upholding the mission and values of the organization. |
Qualifications

Education: |
High School graduate or GED. Ability to understand, read, and write English required |
|
Experience: |
Previous security or police work. At least 1 year experience preferred. |
|
License/Certification/Credential: |
Valid State Driver’s License, Oklahoma Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET IV) Armed Security Officer License required. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain front desk presence, primarily in the Tower, to assist visitors, monitor access, and enforce hospital policies. |

Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and radio communication for real-time response to incidents or irregularities |

Conduct routine foot patrols inside the hospital, identifying safety concerns such as water leaks, unsecured doors, or facility damage. |

Perform door checks and verify that sensitive or restricted areas are properly secured. Report any unauthorized access or breaches. |

Drive security patrols of hospital grounds, parking lots, outpatient clinics, and other affiliated buildings outside the main hospital |

|
Check in regularly with clinical areas and hospital departments to provide support and ensure security awareness. |

|
Respond to emergencies, behavioral incidents, and medical calls. Assist with incident documentation, minor administrative tasks, and support of departmental investigations. Complete accurate and timely reports on all activity. |
