Security Specialist

Implements and administers the Special Access Program which includes processing program access requests, updating required security databases and participation in security inspections.

Implements and administers the Personnel Security, Information Security, and Physical Security Programs for the Agency. Establishes procedures for processing requests for security clearances for civilian and contractor personnel.

Implements DoD and Agency policies and develops procedures for the classification and protection of classified national security and other sensitive information. Implements security education and awareness programs.

Leads and/or participates in strategic planning initiatives for the Agency's security programs. Recommends changes, expansion or revisions to Agency instructions, guidance material and internal security standard operating procedures.

Provides advisory services to management concerning the application or interpretation of security policies, rules, regulations, procedures and practices.

Must be a U.S Citizen as verified through E-Verify Program Drug Testing: This is a drug testing designated position. You must pass a drug test before your assignment to this position and you will be subject to random drug testing subsequent to your assignment. Background Investigation: All selectees will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). You must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level. You will be subject to a random counterintelligence scope polygraph.
