SECURITY SPECIALIST- DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

The primary purpose of this position is to manage organization's security program in order to effectively ensure all personnel are trained/aware of their security roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; make personnel aware of threats, and/or provide security response options for enhancing security and addressing security concerns.

DUTY 1: Administers the Information Security program for the organization. Administers DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and implements procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information, originate or controlled by the organization. DUTY 2: Administers the Industrial Security program. Provides technical guidance in development of program/project/activity specific requirements in conjunction with Contracting Officers to ensure all solicitations and contracts include the appropriate security clauses and language. DUTY 3: Administers the Personnel Security Program. Administers DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and implements procedures for managing the Personnel Security program. DUTY 4: Provides organization OPSEC guidance. Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of OPSEC activities. Applies information protection principles to effectively mitigate OPSEC vulnerabilities across the organization/program/system as applicable. DUTY 5: Implements and administers the Physical Security Program. Implements DOD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and develops local procedures for assigned facilities. Evaluates new or different types of security systems and equipment for application within the organization. DUTY 6: Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various Center organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with these organizations.
