Seeds Processing Specialist

ROLE PURPOSE

  • Seed Processing Specialist in Veg. R&D sites, Antalya .
  • Accountable for seeds and biological material processing flow plus associated activities in Veg. R&D Sites, Antalya (receptions, shipments, packaging, disinfection, accurate store chamber using MINT,…) establishing good collaboration with all departments and functions involved.
  • Accountable for seed biological material movements, according to ways of working established by Syngenta (policies and standars), securing company liabilities.
  • Planning, coordinating and supervising seeds and biological material movements, ensuring full traceability and transparency during the whole process (promoting and implementing track and trace file).
  • Activities follow-up in TRAN according to annual planning, detecting discrepancies in seed or biological material activities. Provide accurate data and inputs to forecast activities during planification and activity development during year, month, etc.
  • Health Plant Authorities contact in relation to application of additional declarations of Third Countries. Collecting from different crops breeding possible countries shipments and coordination of authorities visit,
  • Lead a team working for seed processing activities
  • Communicate with NPPOs to coordinate and facilitate field inspection reports
  • Manage leaf sampling operation in coordination with Agricultural Quarantine Directorate
  • Closely follow up and coordinate trial files processing align with official procedures with Directorate of Provincial Agriculture and Forestry
  • Promote a fluid and constant relationship between different departments and functions in or out the station, fomenting positiveness and constructive approaches.
  • Meet and contribute to enforce HSE standards and ways of working established by Syngenta Antalya.
  • Organizing and executing of the work according to protocols ISO 9001:2008 and GSPP

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Resources

  • Weekly, monthly and annual planning in line with S2S team availability and 3º parties.
  • Process follow up plus adequate facilities control for logistic activities (MINT expert withing giving activities)
  • Inform about improvements in seed logistic activities, requirements, applications or other material movements to prevent delays and to avoid impact in R&D crop activities.

Operations

  • Evaluate potential flexibility in close interactions with S2S lead, according to demand and site head directions.
  • Optimize deliveries on sites (Quality, Quantity and Time).
  • Provide seeds quality through management of resources avaiable within area of influence
  • Organize logistic demands according weekly planning to cover tasks and expectations.
  • Provide support to SO Leads, Breeders, , Farm´s staff, HSE manager, and others for a better activity stream.
  • Support projects in Veg. R&D stations for a better implementation.
  • Ensure implementation and execution of seeds projects in site, and influence outside within area of activity.
  • GSPP: follow and implement all GSPP rules and process during the daily operation at the site

People

  • Accountable for protocols GSPP and HSE standards, ensuring and promoting compliance
  • Support the HSE manager and ensure safe operations.
  • Ensure motivation and engagement of the site community in collaboration with other functions in site. Positive and constructive.

Reporting / Communication

  • Generate monthly Report to inform about activities that takes place in Veg. R&D sites, Antalya in and out when neccesary reporting through S2S Visual performance board.
  • Generate annual report to asses in a GDD form season activities in area of accountability, proposing and promoting improvements where neccesary.
  • EE&TP track an trace & planning file
  • Traceability & status of Plant Health file

Critical Skills

  • Experience in seed processing and biological material processes, that proves his or her capacity to manage tasks and staff.
  • Excellent level of English, to communicate with functions in or out the station
  • Foundation of management
  • OpEx training and continuous improvement skills
  • Driving license
