About the team and position
The Treasury Operations STC Fraud Team Lead is a frontline leadership role dedicated to driving performance, accountability, and development. The STC Fraud Team Lead will lead a team that specializes in safeguarding Carvana’s operations against sophisticated fraud schemes specific to title, payment kiting, odometer, and VIN integrity.

This role blends team leadership with strategic problem solving. The STC Team Lead will have the opportunity to lead and develop Fraud Investigators as they review, investigate, and resolve complex cases, while lowering risk through fraud prevention.

What you’ll be doing

  • Inspire, motivate, and lead the team to ensure individual and team KPIs/metrics are being met.
  • Support the team through complex, extensive investigations by clearing roadblocks and providing guidance.
  • Lead and develop a team of 7+ STC Fraud Investigators.
  • Partnering with other teams and stakeholders to expedite fraud resolution.
  • Monitor team workload distribution and ensure daily and weekly tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Provide formal coaching and monthly QA reviews to support individual improvement and maintain regulatory standards.
  • Identify process gaps, emerging trends, and anomalies
  • Deliver weekly reports highlighting team performance, KPI metrics, and notable call-outs.

What you should know/have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to recognize problems, take the initiative to solve them, and escalate issues to facilitate timely resolution.
  • 1+ year Team Lead experience
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • A sense of humor - Kinda serious about this one
  • A love for working with others and a strong understanding of teamwork

It would be great if you also had

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiarity with fraud, payments, and transactions.
  • Experience specifically leading a high-volume team (1+ year preferred)
  • Experience compiling, organizing, and sharing accurate information with stakeholders to support decisions.
