Role Summary
Decisions BPM India is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations for our $20M+ revenue organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), general ledger, and journal entries.
- Lead and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules in compliance with US GAAP.
- Oversee bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 842 (Lease Accounting) and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) standards.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and workflows using QuickBooks and automation tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Manage vendor accounts, process payments, and conduct vendor-wise analysis to support cost management.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Legal, and HR to ensure accurate financial recording of business transactions.
- Identify and implement process automation opportunities to improve efficiency in accounting workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – ICAI qualified preferred; CPA or equivalent qualification will be considered.
- Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience
- 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing accounting operations for organizations with $10M+ in annual revenue.
- Hands-on experience with US GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842 compliance.
- Prior experience in a US-India cross-border accounting or shared services environment is a strong advantage.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes, including full ownership of the close cycle.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
- Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas.
- Familiarity with accounting process automation tools and workflow optimization.
