Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting core accounting activities, including account analysis, monthly close, financial reporting, and forecasting. This individual is expected to be an independent thinker who proactively identifies opportunities to enhance and strengthen accounting processes in the finance function of the company.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be viewed as a leader within the Finance team, setting a high standard for performance, accountability, and technical expertise. You will serve as a trusted resource for staff, helping to resolve general ledger inquiries, providing guidance on accounting matters, and fostering a collaborative environment.
This position plays a critical role in general ledger management and compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements, including involvement in controls activities such as balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and fluctuation analysis.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset, capable of meeting deadlines and supporting audit and regulatory requirements. Your contributions will directly support reliable financial reporting, informed business decision-making, and the overall effectiveness of the Corporate Accounting function.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support and execute the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in the quarterly preparation of Forms 10-K and 10-Q and other SEC filings.
- Collaborate in the preparation, review, and tie-out of SEC reporting documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions on complex or non-routine transactions, including interpretation and application of GAAP guidance.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during financial statement and tax audits.
- Perform detailed general ledger analyses and investigations to understand activity, trends, and variances; recommend and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to provide responses to inquiries regarding assigned general ledger accounts and key transactions.
- Perform SOX control activities, including preparation of reconciliations, journal entries, and key control documentation.
- Partner with management to identify and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
- Support cross-functional initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects involving financial data, general ledger activity, or process improvements.

- Experience with large ERP systems and comfort working with financial data tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Interest and ability to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public company or public accounting firm
