Job Description:
As a Senior Accounts Executive or Assistant Manager in the Planning Team, you will support the Planning Manager in a wide range of finance-related responsibilities, including financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, budgeting, consolidation reporting, intercompany financing operations, and communication with the Japan headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Management Accounting
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements
Prepare management accounting reports (PL/BS/CF, departmental analysis, etc.)
Prepare management reports for senior leadership (in both English and Japan language)
Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Coordinate with internal departments for data collection and analysis
Support the operation of the new Budget/Forecast platform
Taxation
Support corporate tax and GST filings
Coordinate with external tax advisors
Organise and report tax-related matters for group companies
Support work related to Pillar 2 (Global Minimum Tax) compliance
Assist in preparing and maintaining transfer pricing documentation (TP documentation)
Consolidation Reporting (Japan HQ)
Prepare consolidation reporting packages for the Japan headquarters
Assist in preparing adjustment entries based on HQ accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)
Respond to inquiries from HQ (in Japan language/English)
Prepare consolidation schedules (fixed assets, inventory, tax, cash flow, etc.)
Ensure data consistency with related entities
Support audit-related tasks as required
Intercompany Financing Operations
Support intercompany financing transactions, including loan arrangements, settlements, and cash management between our company and related companies
Monitor repayment schedules and ensure accuracy of interest calculations
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of financing operations
Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies
Communication with Japan Headquarters
Prepare emails, documents, and reports in Japan language
Coordinate with HQ teams (Accounting, Tax, Corporate Planning)
Participate in meetings conducted and prepare minutes
Handle inquiries related to consolidation reporting and intercompany transactions
Communication with Japan Banks
Handle communication with Japan banks (loans, account management, contracts)
Prepare and explain required documents as needed
Team Support & Other Responsibilities
Provide operational support to the Planning Manager
Collaborate with Team members ; cross collaboration with Finance Treasury Centre (FTC Team) when necessary
Promote process improvement and standardisation
Support ad-hoc projects (related companies, regional initiatives, investment related matters etc.)
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other finance-related fields
Knowledge
• Financial accounting
• Management accounting
• Taxation
• Basic knowledge of consolidation accounting is an advantage
• Understanding of intercompany financing concepts is preferred
• Basic awareness of Pillar 2 and transfer pricing principles is an advantage
• Basic understanding of compliance requirements related to finance and accounting operationsMinimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting in a corporate environment
Preferably with experience in:
• Financial statement preparation
• Tax filings
• Budgeting
• Consolidation reporting package preparation
• Transfer pricing or international tax mattersJapan language is required to liaise with Japan speaking internal/external stakeholders from Japan HQ & Banks
ERP system: SAP (preferred)
Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, basic functions)
PowerPoint (presentation preparation)
Willingness to travel as required by Manager or Top Management level
