Senior Analyst Quality Assurance

As a valued member of our Quality Assurance team, you will actively contribute to the daily operations that underpin our operational success to detect, deter, and disrupt financial crime.
The Quality Assurance (QA) team sets and maintains standards for all anti-money laundering work completed by Financial Crime Operations (FCO), applying sound judgment and investigation in line with the Group's Risk Framework, policies, and regulatory obligations.
The Role:
You will be accountable for conducting Quality Assurance reviews across our Transaction Monitoring discipline.
Our Transaction Monitoring Quality Assurance team consists of dedicated professionals who collaborate closely with RACO, financial crime compliance, and Business Aligned Risk teams across the group.
As part of this team, you will ensure effective delivery of QA over our key processes, increasing governance and reporting, and ensuring consistent high-quality outputs.
On any given day you will:
- Perform risk-based Quality Assurance reviews across different Transaction Monitoring streams to assess adherence to AML/CTF requirements, internal policies, and procedures
- Ensure targets are met or exceeded daily by completing the required number of quality assessments and maintaining adherence to the schedule.
- Maintain an operating rhythm with operational teams to provide insights and trends as well as understand the root cause of systemic quality issues.
- Efficiently engage multiple stakeholders to provide evidence and data-driven feedback. Where required, provide additional tailored guidance.
- Uplift financial crime knowledge and actively engage in continuous learning and development.
- Conduct thematic analysis and deep dives to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities for uplift across processes
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Risk Mindset – All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.
- Strong risk-based judgement across diverse typologies and complex cases, with a solid understanding of financial crime indicators and regulatory expectations within Transaction Monitoring.
- Minimum 3-4 years of AML/CTF experience with strong Transaction Monitoring expertise across multiple streams (e.g. LEA, Global Markets, UMRs, Correspondent Banking, CommSec, cuckoo smurfing, cryptocurrency), with the ability to apply sound risk-based judgement across complex scenarios.
- Highly motivated, good attention to detail, and excellent time management
