Senior Analyst Revenue Strategy & Analytics

What We’re Looking For:
The Senior Analyst position provides analytics, reporting, and tactical support to strategies impacting funnel conversions, and is considered the primary ‘SME’ owner of funnel conversions. This role is quantitative, data-driven, and stakeholder-facing, and provides a key supporting role to drive business outcomes. The role primarily supports marketing analytics, but interfaces across departments in pursuit of driving improvements in funnel conversions. Examples of initiatives that will be supported with analytics and strategic recommendations include: promotion strategy, payment types, email conversion, contact strategy, presentation timing, and customer lifetime value analysis. Senior Analysts support a higher volume and/or more complex projects compared to the Analyst position. They also operate with a considerable degree of autonomy, as they are expected to be subject matter experts in the domains that they support.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Analysis:
- Accountable for proactively problem solving on key program/vertical challenges.
- Uses strong understanding of program audience segmentation, funnel strategies, and user behavior to drive growth.
- This may require interpreting existing KPIs, contextualizing data with its limitations and business relevance, and synthesizing a variety of data into a coherent narrative. This analytical output forms the foundation of all other components of the role.
- Supports marketing spend decisions by providing funnel insights to the marketing analytics team, and may have direct oversight over marketing spend for low-mid priority courses.
- Supports marketing spend decisions by creating additional KPI’s for marketing as needed
- Accountable for proactively problem solving on key program/vertical challenges.
- Actively identifies and executes testing with clear hypothesis and learning agenda.
- Uses statistics and analytical methods to strategically approach programs within scope.
- Reporting:
- Build and maintain customized reports, visualizations, and dashboards to reveal key data and insights across a variety of stakeholders and at varying levels of complexity.
- Accomplishing this work requires an understanding of the underlying data sources, high levels of skill in the relevant technical tools, as well as a detailed understanding of key business use cases to match the deliverable with the situation.
- Communication of Results:
- Demonstrate expertise in effective communication of analysis, reporting, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- This requires communicating complex and/or quantitative information to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, including those at the VP level.
- Relationship Management:
- Demonstrate expertise in working effectively in cross-functional teams with stakeholders across a variety of technical and non-technical departments.
- Nurture relationships to build stakeholder trust in deliverables that you provide as well as to stay informed of key business context that other departments may be able to share.
- Coaching:
- Assist Management with initial training and onboarding of new Analyst hires. Serve as an initial point of contact for questions from analysts, prior to escalation to the Manager.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree (from a business, economics, or math related field is a plus)
- 4-7 years of experience in analytics, or relevant business using data to solve problems
- Working knowledge of Excel, and some previous exposure to SQL or other databases
- Experience working with media engines, such as Adwords, web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, and data visualization tools, such as Tableau preferred.
- Is looking for the opportunity to set business strategy
- Keen interest in digital marketing (prior experience a plus, but not required)
- Adept at problem solving and can balance creativity with analytical skills
- Strong work ethic and doesn’t accept complacency
- Demonstrates proactive thinking – always seeking ways to do something better
- The ability to multi-task, stay organized and evaluate priorities on an ongoing basis
