Senior Analyst, Sales

The Sales Analyst produces reports, interprets data, and provides recommendations on areas of opportunities for a diversified, complex, and fast-paced sales function to key decision-makers. The position supports the ELT, SVP Sales, VP Sales Operations, and VP Key Accounts in business planning, analyzing sales performance, and identifying areas of opportunity. Works in partnership with our IT team as the gatekeeper data integrity (VIP depletion data, Field Sales Structure, Distributor Segmentation, National Accounts Call point assignments) Key contributing member of the Sales Organization supporting all-important sales-driving initiatives including ABP Planning, Yearly Internal and external Incentive development and execution, annual target setting, and cascading & ongoing performance reporting.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyzes Shipment, Inventory and depletion data to analyze distributor and channel performance
- Reviews sales trends, inventory, and distribution performance to makes recommendations to improve the business
- Update and run key performance reports for the sales organization such as Sales KPI Performance, Annual Business Planning, Internal Incentive Programs, Sales Town Hall, Executive Profiles, Focus Initiatives, Distribution Gaps, etc.
- Build specialized tools to help the sales teams execute related to Distribution, Inventory, Display programs, etc. pulling from multiple data sources (IRI, Qlikview, Cognos, etc.) to identify future selling opportunities
- Provide training for sales organization on essential reporting tools (Cognos & Qlikview)
- Reviews and prepares reports then use these report to develop compelling visual presentations that tell stories with data
- Keeps abreast of competitive trends and reports appropriate developments
- Provides sales analysis support to key departments
- Designs and implements sales reports and tools to support all facets of the sales through Automated Scorecards and Data visualization
US Sales Data Integrity
- Work in partnership with IT to ensure US Sales data accuracy with VIP to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of distributor reporting data related to depletions, retailers, and territories.
- Act as the main point of contact with IT to manage all data and to report related issues for the sales organization.
- Manage the reassignment process for distributors related to buying/sell agreements. Ensure restatements of the historical volume is done through VIP and accurate reassignment of locations/territories to the new distributor owner.
- Responsibility for call point data structure, including people and corporate organizational hierarchy. This hierarchy is maintained through a combination of Karma (VIP) and Gatekeeper.
IT Reporting Systems and Automated Sales Reports
- Assist in providing mock-ups for screens and critical reports to help the technology team understand the vision of the business.
- Perform testing for projects and enhancement work, providing feedback to IT regarding defects, and coordinate go-live activities.
- Document requirements for requested enhancements/changes to reporting tools and reports (Qlik View, COGNOS, QLIK SENSE)
- Other related duties and tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a related area. (Math, Finance, Statistics, Business)
- Have 5-7 years of relevant analytical experience in finance, marketing or business analyst role ideally with a consumer-packaged-goods company or data provider (IRI, Nielson, Qlik View)
- Must have Strong Analytical, Organizational, and project management skills. An ability to turn data into actional insights through storytelling.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Slicers, Match Functions, and strong proficiency with PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask, work in a team and individual environment, pay attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, expert level with Excel. Experience with reporting tools such as Cognos, Qlikview, and Qlik Sense.
- Significant Experience dealing with reporting, data, and applications.
- Must be able to translate business needs into IT requirements and drive concepts through from inception to reality.
- Strong desire & willingness to dig into problems, identify potential root causes, and work with IT and outside vendors to resolve.
- Demonstrate an ability to perform in-depth data analysis and build new tools to drive the sales organization forward.
- Ability to work with both internal and external customers as it relates to the outside sales organization and consumers.
Compensation:
Compensation offered to prospective Team Members has taken internal equity into consideration and can vary depending on a positions’ location. The final agreed upon wage may vary based on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual.
