Senior Assistant Manager, Student Development

The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) is a dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive support across the entire student life cycle—from admission and matriculation to graduation and beyond the classroom. SASD works collaboratively with schools, colleges, and autonomous institutes to ensure a seamless and enriching academic journey for all students.

This position is part of our Student Affairs Office, a pillar which plays a key role in co-creating a meaningful and enriching student life experience through student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential life programmed, integration efforts, community engagement initiatives, arts and sports.

The Senior Assistant Manager plays a strategic advisory and developmental role in mentoring student leaders from the School Constituent Clubs and Scholar Clubs under the NTU Honours College as the Staff Advisor. The role supports the Team Lead in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Student Organisation Governance training and operations.

Advisor for School Constituent Clubs

  • Partner the Team Lead to shape and drive student development strategies across the 16 School Constituent Clubs, aligning initiatives with institutional priorities and student outcomes.

  • Mentor and coach student leaders to design and deliver high-impact, inclusive, and future-ready initiatives that enhance student engagement and belonging.

  • Analyse trends and ground feedback to continuously refine engagement strategies and improve the effectiveness and relevance of student activities.

Advisor for Scholar Clubs under the NTU Honours College (NHC)

  • Build strong partnerships with NHC and Scholar Programme Offices to design meaningful experiential learning opportunities through student-led initiatives.

  • Provide advanced advisory and developmental coaching to scholar leaders, ensuring programmes are purposeful, inclusive, and aligned with leadership development outcomes.

  • Oversee governance, resource planning, and risk management frameworks to ensure accountability, sustainability, and compliance across scholar-led activities.

Governance Training and Operations for Student Organisations

  • Curate and deliver governance training frameworks that build capability in leadership, organisational management, and responsible decision-making.

  • Drive continuous improvement of governance practices by reviewing policies, incorporating best practices, and strengthening operational excellence across student organisations.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of governance standards and training outcomes with broader institutional goals.

Requirements:

  • Degree with at least 6 - 8 years of relevant experience with youth development; experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.

  • A strong commitment and passion towards student development.

  • Project management skills in coordinating large-scale projects.

  • Proven track record in stakeholder management.
