Senior Associate Sustainable Finance Solutions
Senior Associate, Sustainable Finance
Permanent full-time role
Based in Britomart, Auckland
At Westpac, we’re committed to backing our customers and communities to succeed - now and into the future. As we continue to support Aotearoa’s transition to a low-emissions and resilient economy, we are looking for a talented Senior Associate to join our Sustainable Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a meaningful role in delivering innovative financial solutions that help our customers achieve their sustainability ambitions, while contributing to Westpac’s broader strategic and ESG commitments.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
As a Senior Associate, you will be a key contributor to the origination, structuring and execution of sustainable finance transactions across our Institutional & Business Banking portfolio. You will work closely with experienced specialists and relationship teams to deliver tailored solutions that align to global sustainable finance standards, including sustainability-linked, green, transition and social loan and bond structures.
You will support customer engagement by developing insights, preparing high-quality materials, and contributing to client discussions that help organisations' navigate sustainable finance solutions and broader sustainability challenges. At the same time, you will play a critical role in ensuring transactions are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with best practice and governance expectations.
This role offers strong exposure to complex deal activity, market-leading sustainable finance practices, and the opportunity to work alongside internal and external stakeholders including investors, government agencies and industry participants.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
You will bring a solid foundation in banking, finance or a related discipline, coupled with a genuine interest in sustainable finance and ESG. You are analytical, commercially minded and comfortable working with both financial and non-financial data to support decision-making and reporting.
You are equally confident building relationships and producing high-quality written outputs, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and practical insights for customers and stakeholders. A working knowledge of lending structures, capital markets or corporate banking, alongside familiarity with sustainable finance frameworks, will see you well positioned to succeed in this role.
Most importantly, you bring curiosity, a growth mindset and a collaborative approach, underpinned by a strong commitment to delivering outcomes for customers.
